Here's an old Civil War song called "Rose of Alabama." I have split it up into three sections: a march tempo, a faster reel, and finally a lament. This tune gave me a chance to practice, play, and record on my new instrument: a mandolin! :)
"Oh brown Rosie
Rose of Alabamy
Sweet tobacco posey
You're the Rose of Alabamy."
Not so deep lyrically, but a good tune nonetheless.

Nice picking. How long have you been playing the mandolin? I recently purchased an acoustic bass guitar. I am enjoying learning it. You must have some nice recording equipment the recording was professional quality.
We need to get together and play sometime. I could use some tips on flatpicking.
Keep it up.

Hey Graham! I just bought the mandolin about a month ago from a guy at work and have been practicing a bunch since then. It is really fun to play because it is much easier to hop around on the fretboard than on guitar.
Yes, we need to get together! I would love to play with you. Tell your family I said hi!
