Congrats! I already voted for you! :-)

Randi

Off to vote for my favorite homeschooling family!!!

Sprittibee

I am one of the coordinators of the event and have been sent to your link via another nominee. I got hundreds of nominee links and was unable to spend ample time looking in to each of them to make sure that all of them fit the rules of the contest. It has been brought to my attention that you no-longer are homeschooling by another blogger. I have disqualified many other blogs from the contest for this fact. If in fact you WERE homeschooling in the year 2006, you are still qualified to be in the voting and win. If not, I would have to remove you from the contest. However, I think it is great that you were a homeschooler and that you are supporting the homeschool community. Please email me at hsbawards@gmail.com and let me know if you were homeschooling in 2006. Thanks so much for understanding.

I send you congratulations on this honor. How wonderful! :)

Doc

There's no "rule" anywhere on the homeschool blog site that states the nominees have to be currently homeschooling. The nominees simply must be homeschooling blogs, or in some cases, not, since frugal and crafty blogs were also included. There are "company blogs" which include blogs for magazines - who does a magazine homeschool? There's no reason your blog should have been disqualified. I happened to use your blog as an example in a blog posting today, because the organizer also tried to bully me off the nominees list. She's just making an example of your blog - and for that, I'm sorry. It's called "covering your tracks", since she claimed "many blogs had been disqualified". They haven't been. Except for yours.

Deb

Doc ~ thank you for the comment. We definitely are not looking to get into any controversy over this; it doesn't bother us at all if this is what the coordinators decide. We are just thankful they wanted to encourage other home schoolers to keep at it! We appreciate their hard work, and we support them in their endeavors.

Wow!
I vote you tops no matter what the outcome!
