Last week Anna came over to our house to do a "garden tour" for her gardening blog. While we walked around the garden looking at what was growing in the beds, she took pictures to show her readers--like all good bloggers should do! I also took the opportunity to snap some photos for those of you who have been asking how our garden is doing.
After a week's worth of sun and rain, everything is quite bigger than what you see in the below pictures, but at least it will give you an idea of what we have planted this year!
This is the raised bed of tomatoes. They take up most of the bed except for one end where I have 2 types of cucumbers now climbing up a trellis. I will have to take pictures of the vining cukes and post them later.
In this image you can see the bed of green beans and squash/zucchini, as well as the center bed where we have swiss chard, oregano, rosemary, thyme, arugula, lettuce, and cilantro.
In this large bed, we have beets at various stages of growth, carrots, peas, and more squash.
Here is a view from the opposite end of the garden. You can see the empty spot where I just recently shoveled up a harvest of garlic. I have filled this area with started seedlings of French marigolds and okra.
And finally, here is the plot of peppers and spinach, with some room for possible sweet potatoes. I will post more about our larger field garden when things come along more. Hope you have enjoyed this brief photo "tour." I am thankful for the space and opportunity to garden, and the encouragement to learn how these past 6 years.

Gorgeous garden, Hannah! I'm hoping to be there one day soon to partake of the bounty. :-)

Hello Hannah!
I enjoyed the live tour that you gave me last week! Where did you get your okra?
You have a very lovely garden!

Aunt Bet,
yes, hopefully you can come sometime soon--we need some more veggie eaters!
Victoria,
Thanks for the compliments. You are welcome to come sample the results, too. :)
Anna,
Thank you for commenting! Someone gave me a packet of seeds which I've had for a few years--didn't know if it was too old or not :)-- but I tried planting them anyway in containers. They sprouted but are still pretty small so we will see how they come along now that they are transplanted. You are welcome to have some seeds, but it may be too late. I hope you are able to find some plants somewhere! I will pass on any extra produce if they grow...
