Monday night was the final session of watercolor class for me. It included going over monochromatic compositions and techniques of painting silhouetted objects against a sunset sky. Everyone in the class showed their finished "calendar" paintings. I have enjoyed practicing and learning during these past several weeks and hope to continue on my own developing my skills and maybe even getting some of the paintings I've done printed into cards. As Dad said in an earlier post, "Excellence in our skills should not be motivated by pride but by the joy of knowing that our "craftsmanship" can be a beacon of light to the world."
The watercolor teacher, Lisa Geiman, who has her own shop and studio locally, mentioned she may try to plan a gathering in April for our class to paint somewhere "on location" one weekend. That might be a fun spring activity!
