This old torn clipping has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember--I've had it stuck in my Bible since before I met Tom, and I always go back and read it for encouragement. (Click on the clipping to enlarge for better readability.)
It means a lot to know we don't have to carry the whole burden ourselves--that Someone who really cares for us knows ahead of time that what He sends is exactly the right thing for us.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
~Deb
Great Poem, Deb.
Here's one that helps me through the "straits" of life:
My life is but a weaving, between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors, He worketh steadily;
Oft times He weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper and I the underside;
Not until the loom is silent, and the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas, and explain the reason why;
The dark threads are as needful, in the weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver, in the pattern He has planned.

Thanks for the poem Deb! It met a need I had today! The poem Fred posted was quoted by Corrie Ten Boom one time, she is one of my heros. When days get rough and I feel like giving up, I think of her and the challenges she had to face, my problems aren't quite so bad! :) Still praying for you ALL!
