Hannah, Sarah, and I just returned from the Downtown Farmers' Market with some goodies: tart red cherries and free-range eggs from our friends at Heartland Harvest. Here's a picture of their vendor booth with Sarah (our Sarah's friend) selling her wares.
There were other booths of flowers, homemade soaps, rabbits' wool products, various meats and lots of healthy looking vegetables. But all the red peppers were sold out--that's what I went for! We enjoyed hearing a street musician playing her fiddle on the corner and collecting some change for her efforts.
It was my first time at the farmers' market after living here for three years. Some photos from our excursion have been added to a new photo album--left sidebar.
I'll have to go back another Saturday morning.

Wow! I feel honoured to have my picture on your blog!! (: And yes, you should come more often. Sorry I didn't have time to visit. It happened to be a busy part of the morning. Now I'm getting ready to look at the photo album....

Update: What fun to see your pictures of the market. I could tell which vendors stand each picture was. And I too think that was purple cauliflower--did you notice the shelled peas the same vendor had. Those are a lot of work!! By the way--what did you do with your cherries? We had one qt left that we pitted to had to some sweet ones the boys picked this morning. I think I'll make some jam on Monday. And I put 10 qt of pitted sweet cherries in the freezer too. They had fun picking them! (: Oops, I better finish this before it turns into a regular letter--I get started writing and can't stop.....(:
