I was just looking on a website for "bizarre and unique" holidays, and I found out that today is none other than Book Lover's Day! Therefore, I thought I would write a post on the wonderfullness of books.
I ALWAYS have at least one book, if not several, that I am reading at any one time. Also, reading good books over and over again is a must! Some of my favorite books include the Elsie Dinsmore series, the Pansy Collection, any put out by Lamplighter Publishers, the Chronicles of Narnia, and many, many more. Do you like to read?? What are your favorite books?
Today is really the perfect day to be lazy and curl up with a good book. It's dreary and rainy and cool here...quite different from what I'm sure Dad and Mom are experiencing right now! But, alas, I cannot indulge myself, because I have to clean the house and prepare for my friend who might be coming over for lunch tomorrow! Yay!
Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier. -Kathleen Norris

I agree with you, Sarah. There's nothing better than a good book. My favorite authors are Jane Austen and Nathaniel Hawthorne--but I also love Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. I guess I like escapist literature with a strong moral tone. Anyway, a good book is a good friend! Happy Book Lover's Day! :)

ahhh books! yes, I think we're related, Sarah. :) We both have to have a book in our hands most of the time. And I definitely wish I could stay home today with one. Hope you have a nice lunch with your friend today.

Well Sarah! It is a nice surprise to read YOUR post!! I know what you mean about wanting to read and read. I have a stack of books "to-be-read" by my bed, infact I am reading a couple at the same time... :) Revival's Golden Key by Ray Comfort and Kingdom Authority by Adrian Rogers. Both very challenging and encouraging. Sooooo much to read and sooo little time. :)
HAve a nice lunch with your friend!

I love books. Right now I'm working through the Chronicles for the eleventh time, the Tempest by Shakespeare, a couple of Elizabeth Elliot books, and getting ready to start the Lord of the Rings Series again.

Wow! A post from Sarah! Keep it up.....(: As you already know I love reading as much or more than you do--maybe it has something to do with the name. And I could never decide which was my most favorite book--there are too many good ones! Don't worry about cleaning the house just because I'm coming over. You should see our house right now--or maybe you shouldn't actually. We just finished doing 50 qts of corn to freeze. My cold is getting better fast and I am looking forward to coming over next week, Lord willing. I'll be watching for more posts from you....(:
