You had a really good idea with the ice cream social. Don't let the seasonal change stop you. If you want to continue, just try working it around a fall type dish. Make a crock pot of chili or your favorite soup. That's something that can still be eaten out of bowl and doesn't require much in the way of kitchen mess. I'd guess you have the gift of hospitality; am I right?

Thanks for commenting, Paula. And good idea on the big pot of chili.

The older I get, the harder it is to exercise the gift of hospitality. I love doing it; it just takes a little more oomph! :)

I too have wondered where the summer went. I did not accomplish near as much as I had hoped this past summer, but it was still a profitable time.

That is so wonderful that you have a desire to reach out to your neighbors for Christ. That is an area that I need to grow in. I am very uncomfortable around strangers; I need to learn how to be more hospitable!

I hope your family has a blessed fall!

Amy, thanks for the comment. And if we're ever in Texas, we'll have to pop over to your place and let you practice on us :)
