I just received an email from Tom this morning saying his co-worker who lives right up Route 11 not far from us was trying to head over to work via Route 33 and encountered SNOW up the side of the mountain and had to turn around! Unbelievable! He forwarded me his company's weather forecast for this area:
"WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EDT WEDNESDAY... LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR TODAY AND TONIGHT...IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ABOVE 1500 FEET...OF THE HIGHLANDS OF EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA AND WESTERN VIRGINIA. TOTAL SNOWFALL THROUGH TONIGHT WILL BE 2 TO 4 INCHES.
THE SNOW WILL END AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AS LOW PRESSURE MOVES AWAY FROM THE MID APPALACHIANS. ROADS MAY BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS. SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON...DON'T BE CAUGHT OFFGUARD. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING."
Well, I'm glad my morning includes getting new tires put on the car. Jonathan may need some extra treads on his way home from class tonight.

LOL....I live in north central WV and we woke up to snow. We have at least 4 inches and it's still lightly snowing! I've only lived here for almost 9 years and have never seen it snow this early and this much!

Thanks, Tammy.
Barb, we can look out our front windows towards the Appalachians and West Virginia; there are 3 mountain ranges in front of us. I'm not sure if when we look west we are still seeing Va mountains or WV mountains! But today, I see snow on those mountains and a white cloud of snow falling over various parts of the mountain ranges. So I figured you folks in WV were getting it!
Thanks for commenting!
