I am truly an old-time Scrabble fanatic! Is anyone else out there a Scrabble lover? I not only have the dilapidated board game I had when I was growing up, but I also have a deluxe Scrabble Dictionary and the online Scrabble CD-Roms--version 1 and updated version 2. Now I think I need to purchase yet another updated Scrabble version for Windows XP to be able to play online with my sister.
With the online versions you can play online with people from all over the world. When I play online (which I haven't done in a couple of years!), I usually try to get into games one-on-one rather than with three or four players, and it's good to play with a player your own speed. In other words, if anyone likes to play fast, you can sign onto my game as I like to play with speedsters. :)
The Scrabble community gets to know one another about like the blogging community does. It's fun to log on and see some of your Scrabble acquaintances waiting for someone to play a quick game. My screen name was always Teach-at-home, and my opponents invariably brought up homeschooling conversations between turns. Now that those years are over, I'll have to come up with a different identity when I play online again. ScrapperDeb, maybe?
Perhaps another day I'll write about my twice-a-month Scrabble game with an 85-year-old friend who once scored a BINGO on her very first turn! But I'll tell you what's really fun...and that's winning a Scrabble game when you're playing online against a journalism professor! Right, sis? :)

Fun post, Deb! I smiled all the way through reading! I remember the times we played online...you are an expert, for sure! :-) We played with Lori when she was home from China over Christmas...John won! Does anyone in the family play ya? Have they ever won? If you get the updated version, let me know. I will try to get it so we can play again online! Fun memories of times spent with a special friend.

Hey, you sound pretty good! We still haven't had a chance to teach you how to play anagrams--sounds like it wouldn't take you long to learn. Maybe we'd wish we hadn't shown you how?! (:

Whew! I finally got my Scrabble score posted on my blog. :) I had a hard getting it where I wanted it ( it's on the side bar ).
By the way, I scored a 34. :)
