Thirteen Places I'd Like to Visit in the U.S.
- St. Simon's Island, Georgia. I think just the name sounds so romantic and relaxing, and I'd love to walk on the beach in the early morning, although I'm not normally a beach person.
- New York's Statue of Liberty. She looks so regal, and I'd enjoy creating a scrapbook page of my day with her. I almost bought some New York themed scrapbook paper...just in case.
- Niagara Falls. Everyone goes there for their honeymoon or anniversary, and the pictures I've seen are breathtaking; I'd like to be in that little boat going under the falls.
- Maine. Specific pluses: L.L. Bean Outlet store and seeing a moose in the wilderness.
- San Antonio, Texas. Touring Vision Forum headquarters would be interesting. Then I'd like to rent a car and drive to see The Alamo.
- New Mexico. We so enjoyed our Grand Canyon tour last year; seeing more areas of the southwest at our own pace and eating at little Mexican restaurants would be such a treat.
- Florida. Never been there. Maybe I'd like driving through the Everglades, but if they have lots of mosquitoes in Florida, I'd never get out of the car.
- California. We'd start at the top of the state and slowly drive our way down the coast seeing the Pacific and all the interesting small towns along the way.
- Alaska. Just to experience such a different state. I'd travel during their warmest season, if warm is even a word Alaskans know.
- Hawaii. I visited once long ago and loved the tropical atmosphere, luaus, and those tall pineapple/coconut drinks. This time would be even more fun with Tom along.
- Kentucky. Petersburg, the place where they're opening the new Answers in Genesis Creation Museum. I'm sure one of those behind-the-scenes tours has my name on it, but I'm doubtful I can make it there this year. Maybe next year once they're officially opened.
- Grand Tetons, Yellowstone Park, and Mount Rushmore.
- Montana. Big Sky Country. I'd love to see the beauty of a huge sky as they see it there all the time. But...Micah hasn't volunteered yet to take me with them on their honeymoon trip there. I can't understand it.

Niagara Falls IS so wonderful! We went in 1997 and took that boat ride under the falls. I prayed the whole time for God to protect me and my babies from drowning if the boat tipped over! :-) Of course it didn't and the experience was worth the praying! It was an exciting two days...best views of the falls were from the Canadian side, at least in my opinion! You'll love it when you go! I would also love to drive down the coast of California! That would be some road trip! Thanks for sharing...I like spending part of my Thursdays at Mountain Musings.

Well, of all those places, I've been down the coast of California. Not from top to bottom, but a good stretch! My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the coast, and part of it was along Hwy 1. It's very scenic!

I should do my own list of places in the USA I want to visit. It would probably be just as long :). I have been thinking of doing a blog post on my dream locations! Amongst them are Patrick Henry's grave, Monticello, D.C. in Spring, the Alamo, and the AiG museum in Kentucky when it opens.

TAKE ME WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO SEE THE ALAMO!! *sigh* I don't see any hope of me going anytime soon from here and I can't drive myself. :( :(
The only place I've been to above is FL. I was only 3 when we went so, I don't remember too much. :)

Living in Texas for 14 years, we got to see the Alamo several times. I loved going inside and imagining what it must have been like surrounded by wilderness, with the Mexicans coming. Now it's surrounded by big city! The River Walk is fabulous, and the Alamo is just off the Walk, across the street.
We lived in SD for 3 years, and went to Mt. Rushmore a few times. The thing about that is that it never changes! LOL It's always the same, every time you go.
I would like to see the Statue of Liberty someday.
We got to travel a lot while we were raising our support, and I'm so thankful that our children got to see so much of the US.

I loved reading everyone's comments about places you've lived, traveled, and places you'd like to go. Thanks for stopping by.
Sherrin, several of your "want-to-visit" places are in our neck of the woods. If you ever get a chance to visit US again, look us up!
Dorothy, thanks for saying you enjoy Thursdays here. If you have some ideas for a future Thurs-13 pass them on. :)
Susan, let your children know how blessed they are to see so much of the world.
