On this post, Team Pyro quotes Mr. Spurgeon about the need for our ministry to be general and the Lord's intention to effectively call out a particular people.

Tom, this was a very good post as I think about how easy it is for believers to get off balance one way or the other. Obedience kept coming to my mind as I read... Calvanist or Armenian... the point is to obey God's command to preach the gospel, to proclaim the truth about life after death and the need for all men to come to the Savior. I loved the word picture of the wine running into the streets, God can do ANYTHING because He IS GOD! His display of power, ability, purpose, majesty, how magnificent!
I'll have to admit, it took me a while to read the sermon and I still need to go back and reread it, (those 18th and 19th century, guys had a way with words that we should learn!).
Thanks for the post!
