What a precious gift to have from your father, Deb! I like the decorating ideas pictured on the link. Looking forward to one day having time to quilt and sew more. Once on a thrift shopping outing, I found Sarah a nice large sewing box & she uses it for all her sewing notions. While Jay and I were thrift shopping in 1982, we found an older sewing box that I still use. It is a blessing to have such sweet memories, isn't it?

What a treasure you have. I totally agree about it having a prominent place in your home because it is has so many wonderful memories of your Dad. Let us know where it ends up! I'm off to Debbie Mumm's site now:)

I remember those!!! I guess that qualifies me as vintage as well.

Headin' over to Debbie Mumm's right now..

How sweet. My grandparents bought me a similar sewing box when I was 11 years old. I had it for quite a few years, but sadly it broke! Mine was pink, with embroidered flowers on the top.

Deb, I have my Grandmother's sewing basket. I keep it on display in my sewing room. I also have her thimble. It was my first in my collection. I was up your way the past two days, but spent most of the time at Augusta Hospital with my Dad.
