We're playing catchup on the blog after a busy weekend...so here are a few pictures that tell the story.
This one was taken at the library book sale on Friday. As you can see, not any of us are emerging loaded down with wonderful books--we didn't find any bargains this time. Very unusual, and the workers said it was a very slow day.
Saturday we were invited to a new friend's home out at Mount Solon for a pancake breakfast. It was lots of fun getting acquainted! As I sat on the sofa enjoying the conversation, the sheep in a nearby pasture roamed serenely while their dog barked them away and protected their yard. These pictures were taken as we were leaving and getting in some last minute conversation in the driveway. What a peaceful scene it was.
Saturday afternoon found us searching for a new recliner, although it was an unsuccessful excursion. We're still shopping for something small for a corner of our bedroom (which will involve a complete rearranging of the room). I'm envisioning a comfy sunny spot near a window for reading, stitching, knitting....and possibly some snoozing.
On Sunday Micah and Elizabeth attended church with us and stayed for the day. I'm enjoying every time they come over as once his 4 years at UVA ends, who knows where they'll be for residency! While Micah studied an internal medicine text (his new rotation), Elizabeth helped Hannah and Sarah solve a puzzling Edwardian apron pattern.
All the girls are making an apron together, so hopefully, there'll be a post on their progress soon. It was interesting for me to watch her machine embroider as everyone decided to put initials on the front of their aprons.
And then we enjoyed our first cook-out of the season, with only a minimum amount of shivering while I flipped the burgers.
All in all, a very enjoyable weekend!

I looks like you had a lovely time. I will be at August Hospital tomorrow again, but I still don't know what time. I am calling my Momma again this evening.

What a special weekend you all had together! The pictures are always fun to see! The fabric that Hannah was sewing looks like fabric my Sarah is using to make a purse. I'm so sure that Jonathan enjoys having his brother around when Elizabeth and Micah visit. Glad your pancake breakfast was nice...it does look like a relaxing place to be. My parents are here, and we are enjoying hearing about their visit with all my Dad's siblings in Texas. They will start their trip home on Friday. We will miss their company. Love and miss ya! :-)
