Just a quick congratulations to the Thomas family of Massachusetts on winning Phase 3 of the Jamestown 400 Treasure Hunt! It sounds like the final phase was a tough race, and we're looking forward to hearing more details. We know a few of the families who were in the 100, so we were rooting for at least someone we were acquainted with to win. We were happy to hear of the Thomases completing the hunt, as we had just recently met some of their family at the Church Planters Conference, believe it or not! One of their daughters was the official finalist, and from what her dad mentioned to us, she (or maybe it was her sister) had enjoyed studying for the hunt and had decided to write the family's annual Fourth of July play about Elias Boudinot (those of you who participated in the hunt will know who he is). I'm sure they were very excited to make it to the end!

He was the founder of the American Bible Society. If he did anything else I don't know but he was mentioned in a book that Allison and Gregory read in 4th grade about people who are mentioned in Ohio history.

Hannah~
I was so impressed with the young lady who won the treasure hunt. She gave all the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. One of the final 3 hunters told me that this winning family was one of the most godly families that they had ever met.
Amber Moeller LOVED the note cards. I so wish that you and Amber could have met. You all would have been friends immediately! :)

Tammy, you definitely have a good memory. ;)Elias Boudinot (the one who lived 1740-1821) was certainly a very interesting person in history, and I had never heard of him before this hunt. You might be interested in reading more here: http://www.boudinotagency.com/legacy/
I believe Boudinot did own large pieces of land in what is now near Cincinnati, Ohio, although he hailed from New Jersey. He was also one of the first "forgotten" presidents of the Continental Congress.
Mrs. Wagner, that's wonderful to hear the testimony about Melanie Thomas and their family. It would be neat to meet all of them. I'm glad you were able to meet Amber and send some time with her. I'm sure she would be an encouraging young lady to be around. We'll look forward to hearing about your experience at Jamestown!
