Knitting in Public-how neat!!Not that I can knit!!Actually knitting has made such a comeback that on a TV show The Gilmore Girls(not a good show-no endorsement) they had a Knit a Thon to help raise money for the town. The lady from the restaurant
actually went so far as to make the spahetti up to look like skeins of yarn and put the breadsticks in as knitting needles.

Deb, I have never heard of this day ~ what a fun idea! I think that is so wonderful that your sweet sister is encouraging you to start knitting again. Make sure you have plenty of water to drink ~ I know how hot it is in Virginia right now. In our area it was 100! WHEW! Happy knitting;o)

Never heard of a Knit in Public Day. I may start knitting again if I can't find a nice black sweater. I bought my daughter a basic knitting machine (from Pennysaver ad) and she knit quite a bit in a short time and the stitches were perfect! I see the machines are cheap on ebay, so I recommend that for fun and getting the job done. Sure did enjoy your hubby's posts. Thanks ~ Kathie
