Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts is the newest book in my craft library given to me this Christmas by my sister, Bet.
Just thumbing through it, I love it! I can't wait to sit in my corner chair with the afternoon sun streaming in the window and take time to really look through it.
Sentences like this one encourage me: "The simplicity of this project makes it the perfect gift for almost anyone."
The book has sections titled: "Less-than-2-Hour Gifts," "2- to 4-Hour Gifts," "4- to 8-Hour Gifts," "8- to 12-Hour Gifts," and "More-than-12-Hour Gifts." The instructions seem to be thorough, and the pictures make me want to do every gift in the book!
The companion book by the same author is Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. I don't have this book, but my sister does and says some good things about it.
Here's my next knitting project: The Orange Bliss Scarf. My sister knitted one and wore it when she visited this Christmas. I'm always so influenceable. It was beautiful, so I'm doing one--except in burgandy. And the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Superchunky yarn was on sale at our local yarn store.
So...what wonderful craft book did you receive this Christmas, and what project are you making next?
~Deb
I wasn't gifted a book but I did receive a gift certificate which I used to buy a book. I added 256 Fat Quarter Quilt Blocks to my budding sewing collection. I love it!

What a fun book! I checked it out of the library to look through. =) I didn't make anything from it though...just looked. I like the knitting book as well, I have a few projects from it that I would like to make!
The scarf looks so nice and warm! I'm working on a scarf right now too!

Both those books look interesting. And I love the orange scarf.

I did not receive a craft book, but one of Sarah's friends gave her 101 Designer One Skein Wonders. It is a great book, and she has created some wonderful things already! I'm going to keep an eye out for the two books you mentioned as they look like they would be great additions to Sarah's craft library. By the way...I have been busy knitting my very first project using the ripple washcloth pattern you shared on an earlier post. It is coming right along, and I enjoy it so much!

Quilts are everywhere in Kentucky and you might have noticed on our barns as well!:)
I will keep my eye out for the book to check out the projects. Be sure and post pictures as your projects are completed.
I've been crocheting little preemie and baby caps to give to our pregnancy help center. They are so cute and quick to make. It is a free pattern at the Coats and Clark site.
Have fun crafting!
