The calendar has rolled around to April 1st--someone's favorite holiday to play some jokes!
Who would have thought there was a trickster loose around Mountain Musings? Well, from years past, we know we should be prepared for anything on April Fool's Day!
Here are some things we experienced throughout the day:
- Dad's sock and clothing drawers were swapped and not where he expected them to be.
- Dad's, Hannah's, and Jonathan's shampoo bottles were plastic-wrapped closed beneath the cap.
- Dad's Special K cereal bag inside the box was switched for oatmeal inside.
- Mom opened the cabinet for peanut butter to put on her morning toast, and a cup of small bouncing balls came tumbling out onto the counter and floor.
- The milk this morning was green, but none of us noticed until lunch!
- Hannah found peanut butter on the bathroom door knob when she closed the door.
- Dad found peanut butter on the garage door knob.
- Jonathan's toothbrush was encased in a block of ice this morning.
- Mom's computer background displayed a hilarious picture of Dad with the words "April Fool's" coming out of his mouth.
- Also...the icons on the screen were just pictures of the icons and not the real icons that worked!
- The outside pages of today's newspaper were dated April 1, but all the inside pages were old and dated March 7. Someone changed them!
- The trickster is hinting that there may be things we haven't found yet...hmm.
Noticeably missing this morning was a familiar trick that elicited screams in past years--the kitchen spray nozzle being taped down so whenever someone turned on the faucet they got doused with cold water! The trickster said she didn't want to be woken up to screams early today, so she didn't do that one. Ha!
Well, did you guess it was our quiet, sweet, mischievious, baby-of-the-family, Sarah, who is the notorious culprit!
Did you get fooled today like we did? :)

LOL It's been a quiet day for me. No tricks at my house!

The only joke played here was Sarah telling me after breakfast that she wasn't going to do school today...instead she was going to make a pair of Bermuda shorts! When I turned around to look her in the eye, she smiled and said, "April Fools!"

Hahahahahaaaaaaaa!
Good girl Sarah!! Jeff's favorite trick by you was encasing Jonathan's toothbrush in ice! How long is it until April 1st is on a Sunday? Do we have time to prepare??? Hmmmm--2012!!! Look out Sarah!

What a fun post! Your family would fit right in at our home. We've done variations of all of them except the kitchen spray nozzle. We've decided to try that one soon! Thanks for the enjoyment.

Sarah, I just got home from doing a big grocery shop to find that our Sarah had rearranged all the kitchen cabinets! She smiled at my confused expression and said, "April Fools!"

Wow, it appears that a certain member of your family really gets into it! :-) You have a very inventive mind, Sarah, I don't think I would have ever thought of some of those things. :-)
Our family doesn't get into April Fool's, so it was fairly calm--and safe--here. :-)

Mrs. H., tell your Sarah good job! :) I thought of doing that, but decided it was too much work.
Abigail, I actually didn't think of some of those myself...I just googled "April Fool prank" and found some great ideas! :)

Ah, good old Google, ever ready to help with our every need! ;-) That is funny...

Sarah, I'll give her your congratulations! They are still changed as Mr. Horton says it will be good for our brain. :) Sarah said it was a lot of work! Today, John moved around all the drawers! Guess they will stay that way for awhile!

And with an adorable smile like that, you can't be miffed for to long! She'll just flash ya those pearly whites and your heart melts I bet! :)
God bless-
Amanda
