43 years ago...July 18, 1965...the day I became a Christian, a new creature in Christ...the day I realized I needed a Saviour and asked the Lord to come into my heart and forgive my sins. Today is my spiritual "birth" day! Thank you, Lord!
I shared my life's testimony three years ago on the blog, and you can find it here in a post titled "40 Years A'Walkin'!"
Have a good weekend everyone! See you on the blog next week.
~Deb
We love to celebrate spiritual birthdays around here - they are even more special than physical birthdays, though not so much for the children yet! I look forward to meeting you one day, if not in this world, in heaven! Keep on living for our Lord!
Psalm 36:5-7
5 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep.
O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.
7 How priceless is your unfailing love!
Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.

I enjoyed reading your testimony this morning. I don't know the date on the calender when I trusted Christ as my Saviour, but I certainly remember the experience. A neighbour lady opened her home every day after school and anyone that wished to could go and she would sing choruses with us and tell us Bible stories and always tell us that we were sinners and needed to be saved. One day when I was just seven yrs. old I went home from from her place and went up to my bedroom and knelt down by my bed and asked God to save me. God in his word has promised that all who come to Him He will not cast out. I had a birthday last Sun. and turned 61, so it was a while ago! How wonderful it is to know that our sins are forgiven and what a blessed hope we have for eternity.
I read your blog all the time and enjoy it although I have never commented before.
The Lord bless you and your family. Ruth

Happy Spiritual Birthday, Deb! This September, I will celebrate 28 years of walking with the Lord! I went forward to accept the Lord after a Sunday night service in 1980 after attending church with Jay and his family for 6 months. Jay and I were married one month later. Some time in the fall of 1981, I was unsure of my decision, so my husband walked me through the salvation plan after breakfast. Sweet memories! God is so merciful and good.

Congratulations! Now there is a birthday with eternal value. :)
I don't remember the exact year I became a Christian. It was in the very late '60s. I was a part of the Jesus People Movement.
