OP Sew-Along (That's What I Get For Blog-Hopping!)

Very rarely, if ever, do I blog hop and hop and hop. I usually stick with reading my favorite blogs and that's it, as there's only so much blog time! Last night I checked out Susan's new post over at Blackberry Creek (check out her orange fabrics!) and found out she's participating in Pat Sloan's OP Sew Along.

What's an OP Sew Along? Well, OP stands for Orange Pile, and it's a Challenge to use up any orange fabric we might have in our stash. If you remember, my stash is very small compared to others out there in quilting blogland!

But I hopped to Sister's Choice Quilts and saw Nicole's orange choices, and then hopped to Pat Sloan's Corner and saw her orange b-o-l-t-s of fabric and read about the virtual sew-along. Of course, I wanted to participate!!

The Sew Along starts Friday morning when we'll get more instructions and lasts until Sunday evening; there's lots of fun going on with prizes and more hopping to participating blogs. But...do I have any orange fabric for this wild unexpected project?

This afternoon I went through my stash and came up with a few oranges and also a complementing color; I think I'm using green with an accent of beige. I'm not even sure if I have enough fabric to sew along, as the yardage and pattern we're using haven't been announced yet. It wouldn't do to go out and buy orange fabric when the goal is to use up what we already have!

  Seeing as I'm having lunch with a friend in Richmond most of the day Friday and visiting friends for dinner Friday evening, when will I get started sewing? I'll see if this is something I can reasonably accomplish--or not. It's a fun idea anyway. Don't you think?

I saw that challenge one night this week when I was allowing myself to blog-hop, but I didn't check into it farther. I'm having enough trouble keeping up with my doll quilt! LOL I can't wait to see what you do with your stash of orange!

Your stash has a lot of pretty fabrics. I love those fall colors together. I won't be participating in this challenge but I've seen a lot of bloggers who are.
