A couple of pictures from our day out at the Quilt Shop...Yes, we filled two carts with bolts of fabric! Here's Hannah standing by the loot!
It took us three hours to decide on all the fabrics we wanted to buy! Talk about a fun morning!
I loved the display of The Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt and bought the fabric to make it. Did you know that March marks the 40th anniversary of the book by Eric Carle? Hannah liked the watercolor look of the quilt panels. It should sew up quickly.
Then we hurried home so I could start on the Sew-Along of the orange pile blocks! I'm posting my first block below, and I have to say that it was very fun working on it and putting the various fabrics together!
I haven't decided if I'm adding the corner triangles or not. Here's a picture without them and also to document that I really did sew a block today. :)
I hope to have several blocks done tonight and will post more pictures by tomorrow evening--the end of the retreat.

That turned out really well. Nice job on the quilt block. Don't they go fast?! I was excyted to learn how easy this pattern is. I need to finish up the two bloomers I have here by putting the elastic in but have the fabric all ironed for my next two blocks. I am using fall fabrics. They are so rich in color I really like them! *smile* And just a note...I don't see much of any orange in those carts that Hannah is standing next to. *smile* Glad you all enjoyed yourself at the shop and I hope you enjoy making the catapillar quilt. *smile* It does look pretty. Blessings.-me-(Mommy of two little blessings)p.s. Thank you for making the time to stop by my blog as well and for sharing your thoughts on my blocks. I do so enjoy making things for our home! *smile* Blessings.
