Okay, you know already from that title that it must be Granny Deb talking! Although, I think everyone around here has the same thought! Yes, we had a very enjoyable visit with Micah, Elizabeth, and ten-week old Ethan last week. He's truly wonderful! :)
The Lord really answered prayer by allowing them to make it up our snowy hill safely with no problems. Thank you to those who prayed for their safe travels from Michigan and for a good week for us to catch up with their lives.
My 80-year-old mom, Great Granny, just left this morning headed back to her home three hours away. We enjoyed her extended visit, too, and were grateful that we could take a four-generation picture while she was here.
Okay...since we can't post pictures of the baby, at least I can show you what we did while Ethan was here.
I gave him a bath!
And as Sarah said in her updated diaper post...she had a great time trying her newly made diapers on Ethan to see if the pattern fit a real live baby! And Hannah changed her first diaper ever!
Sarah also enjoyed making pancakes their last morning here. Hopefully, "Aunt Sarah's Pancake House" will become one of Ethan's favorite places for breakfast when he gets older. :)
It was a wonderful visit; thank you again to everyone who commented and expressed well wishes for our week. I'll close with one of my favorite quotes I always think of after a really fun time has ended:
"Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened!" ~ Dr. Seuss
~Deb
Glad to hear that you had a fun time being Granny Deb.
Chris is on a second part of his interview for a job in Asheville,NC.Hopefully soon he will have a job.

I'm so glad you got to spend a week with your grandson (but so sad that we don't get to see a picture of him!). I'm several years away from being a grandmother, but I sure do look forward to it!

What a wonderful week you must have had. What a blessing to see your precious grandson in person (and his parents too). I'm sure you did fine on giving him his bath. If he got clean, that is all the matters. I love the quote. Enjoy the memories.

That quote is just the best...I will remember it! I'm so thankful the Lord kept them safe, and you had a wonderful week together as a family! Did you bathe him in the kitchen sink?! I always loved doing that! Sarah, your pancakes look yummy! I love driving by Aunt Sarah's Pancake House because I always think about my Sarah...now I will think about you, too. :) What a blessing to have great grandma there and being able to take the four generations picture...that will be a treasure. God is so good!

Hi Granny! What a fun visit that must have been. Having them all to yourselves! What a joy!... I certianly understand about the pics not being shown. Somethings are just meant to be enjoyed privately. Blessings to you all, we really miss you.~Julie

I love that quote - and with children living hither and yon, I may have to borrow it occasionally :)
Glad you had a wonderful week with the wee boy.
And mmm mm those pancakes look delicious. Has a recipe been posted?
