I promised to show you the new bird feeder I purchased at the Maple Festival this year once it had been installed. Tom was able to get the project marked off the "Honey-Do" list this past weekend. Already cardinals have found their new home-away-from home, and the goldfinches have been clinging to their new feeder, too.
The week has been very busy with my mom visiting and working outside in the flower beds and garden during the day...and, of course, relaxing on the front porch during the evening--bird watching, sunset watching...and just talking.
Next post I'll show you a fun spring project I just completed today.

Down in Kentucky our bird feeders are being emptied so fast. The birds must be part pig. I was so thrilled to see not only a large number of gold finches but also two male indigo buntings and one beautiful oriole last week. I plan to put up an oriole feeder to attract them to stay.

I love that view too. You must feel so blessed to have such beautiful scenery all around you. Enjoy the feeders. We have lots of birds around us and especially enjoy the humming birds that come to our feeder. I put it right outside the kitchen window so I can watch while I'm working.

Although my mom is more alive than ever because she is w/Jesus, I still miss her. She died when she was 43, and I was just a very young adult. I love it when I hear that adult children have time to talk to their moms. Sometime, I still feel like I need my mom (even though I have ten children of my own who are nearly grown), but this was God's plan for my life.
So, Deb, while I know that you enjoy your mom (from what I've read on your blog), cherish the time.
It will be great when Jesus returns, and there will be no more goodbyes. To get to the morning, though, you have to endure the night. Sigh...

Very cute feeder! Of course I really like the scenery in the background. :) I found a humming bird feeder...brand new..today at the thrift store and grabbed it! It looks like a little birdhouse too!~ :) I can't wait to fill it tomorrow and hang it on my front porch! Our school room windows face the front porch so we can watch them as they feed.
Sounds like your week with your Mom was full and fun. I enjoy visiting my mom in the country and walking around the yard looking at her flowers and watching the kids play...so very peaceful!!!
