Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.
Till released from flesh and sin,
Yet from what I do inherit,
Here Thy praises I’ll begin;
Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Here by Thy great help I’ve come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood;
How His kindness yet pursues me
Mortal tongue can never tell,
Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me
I cannot proclaim it well.
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.
I shall see Thy lovely face;
Clothed then in blood washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away;
Send thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless day.
Our church began learning this song in 4-part harmony last year,and it has become a favorite of mine. I selected this song as my cell phone's ring tone, and whenever my phone rings, I'm reminded of our special church family. We hope you have a wonderful Lord's Day.

That is a beautiful hymn. It's even more impressive that it was written by such a young man.

Long been one of my favourites, as well. I particularly enjoy it when a certain one of our worship-leading families chooses this one, as the two musicians (daughters 15 and 16) play it so sweetly (piano and guitar, respectively). When I am able to join them in leading (on mandolin) it is SO much fun to blend with them. Both are self taught (no money/time/transport) for regular lessons) and have a wonderful "down home" style. When we do that one, it remains with me for days..... not a bad thing to have "stuck" in one's brain, right?

One of my favorites.
I didn't make it to church today.The Boy Scouts left for camp this morning..As being on the Troop Commitee I waited until the troop trailer left the parking lot before I went home.We prayed for a safe trip.

I LOVE the way this song sounds on the CD titled "Bright Canaan". I believe it's put out by Bob Jones. I first heard it on Jewels blog Eyes of Wonder a while back, and had to have the CD. A little hard to track down, but worth it ;o)
