Since we love S-N-O-W so much around Mountain Musings, it's only natural that snowman plates would be fun items for us to collect! Here are 13 from our collection...
I love the Star Light, Star Bright snowman plate. It's one of my favorites! The snowflake napkin rings were purchased at Cracker Barrel, and the cute light bulb place tag was painted and given to our family by a friend years ago. (Instructions at end of post.)
Can you guess why I would love this next plate? It's a snowman with a red birdhouse and red birdies flying all around. Love it.
(The other 11 plates follow on the continuation page).
Happy Snowman...such a happy face decked out with his colorful scarf.
Encircling Snowmen ~ here's a different one...snowmen surround the entire plate. This is another of my favorites because a special friend gave it to me years ago.
The Plaid Snowman plate with the decked out snowman in his cute stocking cap and scarf is Jonathan's favorite. He will always make sure he gets this one...even if it means switching around some plates once the table is set!
Mr. & Mrs. Snowman shoveling together in the snow.
Snowy Woods Snowman with red birds and warm mittens.
Old Mr. & Mrs. Snowman aren't quite as frisky as they were on Plate #7. They've trudged faithfully in the snow for a number of years...and that's why they're one of my favorites, too. Let's hear it for snowflakes who stick together!
It's Chilly Willy Snowman all bundled up!
Woodland Snowman is surrounded by rabbits and deer.
Snowman in the fields ~ I have four of this set that we use when we have extra company.
New for 2009 ~ The red plate caught my eye immediately at Dayton Farmers' Market last week. He's surrounded by some cute little Charlie Brown trees he's decorated.
Simple instructions below on how to make a light bulb name-place tag.
Start with large white light bulbs and a spool of silvery, glittery ribbon from Michael's Craft Store.
Buy opaque paint markers in red, green, and gold, also at Michael's. Draw holly leaves and berries on each bulb, and write the selected name on each using a gold shimmery color.
This bulb has some extra little gold dots added for interest. Attach some ribbon to the end and place at your table setting. Let guests take their bulbs home after the meal so they can be inspired to make some, too! Hat tip to my friend, Chris, for this great idea!
Do you collect snowman plates, too? Did you have a favorite of the 13?

What a cute idea! In my mind I'm seeing myself shopping the after Christmas sales to pick up a smattering of different plates! They would be great to set the table with next Christmas.
I don't know about your part of VA, but we're supposed to get a lot of snow this weekend :)

Adorable! Your table must be so much fun to set during this season. I have a set of Christmas dishes but mine are holly and ornaments. I really like the snowman idea.
Thanks for sharing these photos.

I really like your snowman plates! One thing about snowmen is that you can't go wrong, everyone likes them.
I like your name tag light bulbs. Maybe you already thought of this, but...
A person could glue the ribbon to bulb (so it couldn't slip off), tie a loop in the ribbon so it could be hung on the tree, then print the name (and year) on the bulb so it could be read while hung - that way the name tag would be a gift that that person can hang on their tree to always remember their dinner at the Girotti's in 2009!
