Project 365 continues....
Believe it or not, the above image is a photo, not an unfinished watercolor pencil drawing. Today as Mom, Sarah, and I were driving up to the quilt shop in Dayton, VA, Mom suddenly yelled, "HANNAH, CAMERA!!" The reason being there was a horse and buggy crossing the intersection as we were sitting at a stoplight. I grabbed my camera from my lap, turned it on, and snapped a picture through the windshield.
Unfortunately, the camera was set on a slow shutter speed, and in the broad daylight, I knew the photo would turn out to be no good. Viewing the picture later, however, revealed that the overexposure had frozen the horse and buggy in time, capturing this soft painterly effect. Pretty neat?

That is GREAT! I need to learn how to play with my shudder speed and learn when it's best to change it around. *smile* Great picture! Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings

I love it! It looks like a painting. It would make a unique contest entry!

We, too, have a hard time getting pictures of amish buggies. First we have to make sure we don't know them (we usually do!) but then it's usually too late. What a laugh. Your buggy and horse look very different from ours. It's amazing how much the communities differ.
I would've enjoyed visiting that Rockfish Gap country store. Can't wait to see what you bought!

Hi again ~ I just looked at Hannah's Project 365 and noticed how perfectly clear her pics are...especially pic #8. My question is ~ how much of that has to do with a good camera and how much of it is know-how? Is it possible to get a $79 camera to take good shots?
I think your project 365 is going to be one of my favorite Rainy Day reads!

Hannah,
I love the effects! Will you try it again with another object to see if you can recapture the illusion?
Did you have a nice birthday?
Hello from Anna, too!
