Quilting took a backseat today to skiing! Well, actually, I really didn't ski (but you already knew that!). I did meet a dear friend for lunch at Wintergreen and spent a few hours talking and keeping her company while her son went skiing.
Dorothy and I enjoyed sitting and chatting by the fire in the lodge until lunchtime when we headed outside to scout out a restaurant. Quite chilly but fun to watch all the activity going on around us.
My goal while I was there was to find a photo of the day for Project 365. Here's what I came up with...check it out.
Please continue to pray for Dorothy's husband, Jay, who is waiting to begin chemotherapy. It was such a blessing that Dorothy could take a day's break from all of the many medical appointments and hospital stays. She needs your prayers, too!
On the way home I stopped here:
Stop back by and visit the blog on Monday, and I'll show you the treasures I brought home.
As I turned into our driveway around dinnertime, a herd of ten deer watched as I arrived. I grabbed my camera, although I didn't have a zoom and snapped away...not quite the clearest picture and quite dusky at the time...but you get the idea of how neat it is to live in the country.
And that was my day. Back to normal stuff tomorrow.
~Deb
What a sweet way to spend the day! I'm sure your friend was encouraged just to spend some time with you.
Great picture for your project! And I'm interested in seeing what treasures you picked up on the way home.

Hi Deb, How nice for you and your friend Dorothy. I'm not a skier either and am fascinated by your deer. I'm really enjoying your and Hannah's shots -- aren't they opposite from mine? Your aussie pal, Rose

Looks like a wonderful time. I would have enjoyed watching but not skiing too. I'll keep Dorothy's husband in my prayers.
Blessings,
Victoria

Deb, Thanks for coming! It was so great to sit and visit with you. I've missed you so much! We didn't leave until 8:30pm. The roads were fine and we made it home safely. John was exhausted and fell asleep quickly! The photo of us is a good one! :-)
Jay is starting his chemo today! He will be taking it for about 6 months; 21 days on, 7 days off. I so appreciate everyone's prayers on our behalf! God has been so good to us throughout this process. We are thankful we serve a faithful, compassionate, merciful Abba Father!

P.S. I'm surprised you didn't post the picture of the "random guy" outside the restaurant! Oh, that's right...he said to save it for your grandchildren! That was so funny!
