As of 4 p.m. today we finally have power! Yay! The cyber world rules again! Just kidding...but, amazingly, we did rush to the computers when the lights came back on this afternoon.
And as soon as we heard the heat start up, we saw the neighborhood plow heading up the hill to clean our driveway. In the last two days, we've measured 15 inches of new snow on top of the 4" earlier this week, which was on top of 8" last weekend. This has been a real winter!
Tom is still at work helping with power restoration, spending these snowy nights in a local hotel close by Virginia Power offices. We just heard that hardly any cars are out on the roads as primary roads are still bad, let alone secondaries that get to our house. We'll be snowbound a few more days inside our hilly subdivision.
Okay, just wanted to check in. Off to take a hot shower and fix a hot meal tonight. I am very thankful to be somewhat back to normal. Hope you all have a warm weekend and a good Lord's Day tomorrow.~Deb
I've read your blog before and enjoyed it. Wow, looks ya'll got it worse than we did. We're an hr south of Richmond and it's bad enough that church was cancelled Sunday and we won't be going today either. Yikes. God Bless...

So thankful you got your power back before dark! We got about 3 inches yesterday. Our other 8 inches had melted because of the rain earlier in the day. I think we would have accumulated more inches, but everything was wet when the rain turned to snow so it melted for a long time when it hit the ground. We played dominoes and hung out together. Have a blessed Lord's Day!!!

I feel for all of you folks up north. It has been quite a winter. We woke up to a few snow flurries but I doubt we will get much else. Hope this next round will go through quickly and leave you with your power on.
