Since Jonathan and Sarah graduated together from home school six years ago in 2004, the juggle of daily lessons, keeping records, math problems, and scheduling exciting field trips seem in the distant past and no longer a part of our lives. However, we enjoyed those years tremendously and are thankful our family had a very positive experience.
Sherrin, over at The Drew Patch, interviewed Hannah in April and asked about her homeschooling experiences from a daughter's perspective. You can find the interview here if you didn't get a chance to read it.
Sherrin also asked to interview me this month, and she's posted that interview here.
If any of my homeschooling friends can add any positive and constructive tips and resource helps for Sherrin as she anticipates homeschooling her children, please leave a comment about your experiences.

local home school support group-when you first started homeschooling was there even a local support group?
I know you are one of the first ones I have ever met started out homeschooling. At first I would meet people who switched over because in the 80's this was the big wave of when homeschooling really started big time.

Excellent article. I couldn't agree more with the idea of centering your children's activities around getting together with other families. We have done that in our own family, and we can now see its benefits. Our children aren't perfect but we have seen how far some of our friends' children have drifted as a result of peer-group influences. It is very sad.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

Thank you so much Deb. I remember glansing at the interview done with Hannah and now will take a look at the one done with you so I can get some more ideas. I am now looking down the path with our son being five and am getting a little more nurvious as my mom still doesn't think it's a good idea and my mum just doesn't address the topic anymore. The support ends at our front door. So, thank you so much. Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!
