Last Friday we hosted another soapmaking class here with another set of ladies and daughters. Once again, we all had a great time learning and fellowshipping together! Mom, Sarah, and Granny helped me with a great amount of the preparations, and I focused on explaining the procedure clearly--easier said than done, so I was thankful for the opportunity to refine my teaching.
It was a beautiful spring day, and the awning set up on our deck came in handy, even if several hands had to keep it from blowing away at times!
Armed with aprons and rubber gloves, we were ready to get into the nitty-gritty of the recipe.
During our class, everyone took turns cutting bars from a fresh log of lilac soap with the crinkle-cutter.
We got our hands soapy with rolling soap balls, a fun ending to the afternoon!
Then it was time to proceed with the final mixing of our recipe, just as a quick storm started whipping up.
It took teamwork to add all the ingredients and pour the soap into our molds.
Thanks to all who made the class a success (and thanks to Mom for taking pictures)!

That was so sweet of you to share your skills with others. I've made soap before so I know what a project is can be. Your family is blessed to have homemade scented soaps made by you.

What fun, and how educational! Wish we lived where we could join in the next time.
