Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing." ~ Psalm 100:1-2
One Sunday evening recently we invited our friends from Heartland Harvest over for a meal and an evening of singing...such a grand time! Seeing as they've had us in their home on several occasions, it was about time we had them over!
Here's a picture of the whole family taken at the end of the evening just before they signed the guest book and left for home:
And here are some pictures of us all making a joyful noise unto the Lord:
We "gathered together" around the fireplace for many familiar hymns:
They can strum, too!
Mandolins, guitars, harmonica, bass, and violin all joined in:
Then all the siblings sang one last song for us, harmonizing together on The Lord's Prayer:
We even captured it on video:
What a wonderful evening! I wish you could have joined us!

Lovely. God is so good to send us this kind of beauty and fellowship. Beautiful fellowship!

That was beautiful, Deb! My husband says families have the most beautiful harmony. Wes sings well and loves to sing a capela (did I spell that right?), so we enjoy that type of singing. Maybe someday we can come sing with you. I'll bring my guitar and Wes will bring his banjo! ;)

One can listen to their singing over and over.
One question:Any significant reason as to why one wore a black covering and the others white.Didn't know if had to do with age or sometimes the change out.Haven't seen anyone with Christian headcoverings in a long time.

Deb ~ What fun! And so many talented musicians playing such a variety of instruments. There is nothing like an ensemble with beautiful voices in harmony. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful evening with us.

Pretty good singing! The strumming must have been fun, too. I have always thought it would be fun to learn the mandolin. Just not enough hours in the day. I really enjoyed the video of singing. Thanks for sharing.

What pretty music. We love getting together with friends to sing - especially the Psalms. Maybe someday we can get together and sing too.
