From The Word

  • I Peter 5:8-11
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a "roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Tammy

After this year I would say Summer starts in March!

I always have to remember when we go visit up north not to order Sweet Tea.

I guess #10 could be personalized for you to say something about South is where Tom moved after college and never left!

Linda Murphy

#10 Strangers feel so welcome that they come in the side door, without knocking and without announcing who they are, and ask, "Where's yer restroom?"

(Had that happen once, I couldn't believe it! It was at that moment that I knew I had moved to the South .)

Oh I can't tell you how SWEET that list is... It brings back so many WONDERFUL memories of our trips to TN. Where all that and more are so very true. SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY would be my #10... Though I REALLY REALLY think it is..."Where I Belong"... :) We have some exciting news I will try to email you shortly. :)

Kendra Shard

Yes, I agree, the South is "where I belong" for sure! :) I'm just a smidgin jealous because I've been eyeing that sign out at Country Connections for months now. You have inspired me to once again ask for it for my birthday this year.

Stephanie in MI

Oh, that's sweet....where you belong. :-) I haven't spent a lot of time in the south, so it's hard for me to fill it in (unless with a joke about rednecks, which isn't nice....being from Iowa, I've had plenty of redneck jokes thrown my way, too!).

Anita

There's a church around every corner.

For me, #10 would have to be: Where you don't pass anyone on the road without a wave.

Susan

I like your #10 just fine . . . but in my case, the south is southern Canada! ;) I can identify with every single one of those things, having grown up in SC. As they say, you can take the girl out of the south, but you can't take the south out of the girl! :)

Connie

Love it, it's wonderful!

Carrie

I'm a yankee, having grown up here and finally living up here again, but I spent 12 wonderful years in the South. I love your plaque!

Carolyn Shortt

Me, too, Deb!!! This is where I belong!

I might would add #10 "the best place on this earth to live"!!!
