In my last AAA post I sent out a call to my friend Jean to "let's set a date to go antiquing." That date was this past Friday, and we had a fun time traveling to Lexington and shopping at Duke's Antiques and The Antique Mall.Below you can see a few of the items that caught my eye, but only one of them came home with me. Can you guess which one? I'll show you in a later post. Granny is always on the lookout for antique potato mashers, and she found four of them to use in her baskets. I was going to take a picture of all of them lined up, but she's already made two potato masher baskets since Friday! I'll post on those finished baskets soon.
Antiquing almost always works up an appetite, so we found a neat little sandwich shop called Blue Sky Bakery.
Who wants the special of the day? Potato Leek Soup and a half Pesto Club on freshly-baked focaccia bread with Black Bean Salad--three votes for the special!
The next photo is dim but gives you an idea of the sweets behind the counter--harvest cookies, brownies, lemon squares, and carrot cake. Granny had to have a piece of the carrot cake...it was delicious and a very generous slice for all four of us to taste.
I think I'd definitely come here again!
We all enjoyed ourselves and had a good day on our antiquing adventure! Thanks, Jean!

I'm going to hold you to writing about the potato mashers, and revealing which item you bought. I'm guessing the watering can. I sure hope the prize for winning is a good one! : )

What a fun adventure. I love to shop for antiques, and we have some great antique malls here. You're always welcome to come shop with me! :)
I'm trying to choose between the watering can and flower pots. Any one of them would be put to good use at your house.

What a fun adventure! You sure found some neat stuff, but I am guessing you came home with the watering can to add to your collection. I saw one at an antique store while we were on our trip but they wanted WAY TOOO much for it, so it is still there in their little store. :)

What a great day! I love it. One of these days, I'll get up the energy to hit an antique mall again. :-)
