We wish everyone a safe and happy flag-waving Fourth of July! Our holiday will be a bit different this year...the devastating windstorm which we experienced last week here in Virginia has resulted in thousands of folks still without power.
Tom has been working lots of hours--through the weekend, my birthday, today's holiday...and beyond. The projected goal is to have everyone up and running by next Monday or possibly Tuesday.
We have much to be thankful for since our power was out for less than 24 hours; trees only fell across the driveway and not onto our vehicles or home; no one in our family was hurt by the storm; and we didn't lose any food from the freezer. We were well blessed!

Your post reminds me how lucky I am to have power (and AC!) in this heat wave with all of those people who don't have it. We decided that since it's so so hot that we are most likely skipping going to the fireworks tonight and will stay home in the cool. The grandkids Owen and Abby are with us for a few days and I'm sure they will keep us busy!

I too have been very blessed because we never lost power here in Richmond. I have been praying for the people that still don't have power and also for all of the men that have come from near and far to restore power to our area. I am very lucky because I only have to walk out into my front yard to see the fireworks that are set off at the Chesterfield Co. Fair Grounds. You can't beat that!
God Bless America!

I'm still praying for your family and hope Tom can wrap up his work soon. What a rough week for him and all the folks at the power company. I feel for people having to be without a/c in this heat!
We got back late this evening from our city's fireworks. We probably spent more time stuck in traffic than we did at the fireworks - one of the pitfalls of living in a major city.
Hope you had a nice Independence Day even if Tom couldn't be there to help celebrate.
Blessings,
Victoria

I'm very sorry that you've experienced such bad storms and that so many people are without power. I hope Tom is able to rest up and get home soon. It's so wonderful to have people like him who are willing to make such sacrifices to help others! for the utility worker!
