We traveled up to Connecticut to visit Dad's side of the family for Thanksgiving. It was good to stop in and see Grampa's new apartment and listen to him reminiscing with stories of Italy, WW2, and family history.
Everyone gathered midday as we enjoyed snacking, chatting, and preparing for the bountiful meal.
Time for pie and games!
To Sarah's tradition-keeping delight, Aunt Ellen declared we would bring out their Christmas decorations, our normal day-after-Thanksgiving activity.
More traditions: an annual Nutcracker, and...must-have orange Danish rolls. How thoughtful!
Later we meandered outside by the fire while some of us braved the kayaks and cold water. We also caught a glimpse of the effects of Hurricane Sandy along the nearby shoreline.
It was time to leave for Virginia all too quickly. Thank you, everyone, for hosting us!
Thanks for sharing the photos! How sweet that your Connecticut family had the orange danish and put up the Christmas decorations!!
