Hello people! It's been a hectic going and coming week around here! Hence...no blogging until now!
Earlier in the week Granny and I made an overnight trip back to our hometown of South Boston, Virginia, and I took her around to see many of her friends. That was interesting, especially when we visited a 96-year old and a 92-year old and a few 80-somethings!
Lots of photos were taken so she could remember her special visit. Here's Granny with her long-time friend, Cheryl, who served us homemade buttered rolls with tomatoes and her delicious peach and apple pies:And Granny enjoyed her visit with another long-time family friend, Nathaniel:Photo credit below: thanks to the South Boston and Halifax County website. That's my town! And...we have SOAP coming out of our ears these days! Hannah has been busy in the kitchen making a variety of different scents!
In addition to all the soap being wrapped and prepared for Dayton Days...which is Saturday (come join us!), she's making double batches of her unique Dirt Soap for JM Cremp's boys' adventure catalog again this year.
And it seems that the museum gift shops and stores around the area that carry her soaps are ordering more now for the holidays! So she's been in cranking-it-out-mode so it will have an adequate four weeks to cure! That means we three girls have become quite adept at juggling kitchen time!
Here's Sarah latest fall venture at farmers' market...caramel apples! They make their debut tomorrow! She made six to see how they sell:Last but not least on this Random Friday post, I recently found a new recipe website that I've enjoyed perusing--Taste of Southern. Tonight we enjoyed the Grilled Vidalia Steaks with Sweet Italian Sausage.
Here's a photo taken from Steve's Taste of Southern blog. And guess what? Mine looked exactly like this photo!! Everything was yummy!Thank you, Steve, for some great recipes that I've found on your site!
Well, that's it for this week's random-ness.
What's happening in your neck of the woods this weekend? You know where I'll be....at Dayton Days helping Granny sell baskets!
~Deb
I'm happy to see your latest post. I miss seeing all your adventures when you don't post as often. I'm praying for the time at the market today. May it be a profitable time--one in which everyone's hard work will be rewarded, and where a good time is had by all.

You all are busy! That's a good thing. I got my atlas out to see where South Boston is. {the South Boston I know is in MA!} And in the process of looking at the Shenandoah Valley in VA, I am saddened to see that the Skyline Drive has fallen victim this week. I have not been there in the autumn, but understand that would be ideal for tourists, and its closure will be a great loss of revenue. Happy Dayton Days! Joyce

Lots to keep you all busy at your house. Those caramel apples look so good!
Our exciting project this weekend is to clean out our filthy garage. :)
Hope all your sales go well.

I hope Dayton Days went great! I was unable to come. Molly's roommate went, but she had papers to write and said she couldn't go. Congratulations on the soap orders! Those apples look wonderful!

Hello! We have been following your blog from afar (WA State) for a while now, and sure enjoy seeing all the beautiful things all you creative ladies do! We regret that we haven't said hello sooner! I hope those yummy looking apples sold well! We went to an Apple Harvest Festival in a nearby rural town yesterday, and there was a vendor that had a whole table full of similarly decorated apples. They looked like they had lots of happy customers!
You all are such lovely ladies, and we really appreciate your encouraging posts, and sharing all the good things the Lord is doing in your lives! Keep it up!

Hi Deb! What a nice visit you and Granny had in South Boston. Looks like a quaint town from the picture.
Hannah is a girl after my own heart! I love homemade soap and have made my own for a long, long time. Those bars look wonderful.
Sorry I'm just now getting around to leaving a comment, we were out of town until yesterday.
Have a great week!
