It's Saturday again! Once more, there are some extra words for the weekend, and I won't be posting tomorrow.
Christmas is the celebration of God coming to earth as a man and being with us in the flesh. Emmanuel - God with us!
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. ~Philippians 2:5-8
Doesn't that cause you to marvel and wonder at how great the mercy of God is?
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Wisdom from on high,
Who orderest all things mightily;
To us the path of knowledge show,
And teach us in her ways to go.
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan’s tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory over the grave.
O come, Thou Day-spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
O come, O come, great Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes on Sinai’s height
In ancient times once gave the law
In cloud and majesty and awe.
O come, Thou Root of Jesse’s tree,
An ensign of Thy people be;
Before Thee rulers silent fall;
All peoples on Thy mercy call.
O come, Desire of nations, bind
In one the hearts of all mankind;
Bid Thou our sad divisions cease,
And be Thyself our King of Peace.

Yes Sarah, thinking of the great love and sacrifice of the Lord overwhelms me with gratitude and awe. I love the Christmas carols because many of them not only talk of his birth but of his death and the salvation message. HAve a great weekend!!

I know, Toni, I was TOTALLY shocked. I mess around a lot, but I seriously wouldn't call "bingo" unless I thought that I had it. Because, as you know, this IS a serious game...and it wouldn't be cool, either.
Here's the deal: I live in the Bay Area of NorCal, and always awaken early. This morning was no exception. After praying for a while (I'm pretty pious like that--KIDDING!), I always switch on the iPad, and check my email, etc.
After a while, I came into the other room, and switched on the desktop, and clicked on the Girotti's blog. When the words came up, I thought that I'd only gotten five words (which is a record for me), but then looked again, and there was "wonder" staring me in the face...literally and metaphorically.
I thought how embarrassing it would be if I made a mistake...but, big deal, embarrassment wouldn't kill me. Anyway, I went back over my words a couple of times, and I THINK that I got a bingo. I've counted and recounted, and cut and pasted from my list, and used the strikethrough function on Word...so if I'm wrong, it won't be because I didn't check repeatedly. And, though I'd be embarrassed, it won't be the first or last time--or the end of the world. But, I'd rather die than be embarrassed! :)
Moreover, it's been fun, too, reading Sarah's posts, and the comments from everyone. It's been heart-stopping, as well, when I saw how few words others needed for a bingo. All in all, it's been a great ride.
Oh, and another benefit of playing was to become acquainted with people like you, Toni. I went to your blog, and was fascinated by it...the dryer balls (or whatever they're called) are something that I may try. The only thing is that I need to look on Amazon, since hardly anyone in CA wears nylons, although one of my daughters will probably know where to find them. I have a totally different lifestyle than you (or the Girottis)--we live in the suburbs, I don't knit, or quilt, I love sports, and we have cable TV, which alway s has a game on :), etc., but I still find other people's interests interesting. So, I will definitely check out your blog from time-to-time.
FINALLY, my son, Micah, sailed through the procedure yesterday, and did remarkably well. My husband and I are grateful that the Lord brought him through safe and sound. All praise to our great God.
Sorry for hijacking your blog, Deb. It's Christmas, so you can be extra forgiving, I hope. :)

Sarah, this is a beautiful post! Christ's birth and death were so wondrous there were signs in the heavens and the earth for both. I'm so thankful to have heard the Gospel and to have the opportunity to accept Him as my Savior. :)

I wrote a lengthy comment, but maybe it got deleted. ANYWAY, I couldn't believe it either, Toni, but all my words showed up this AM. And, I wouldn't have said "bingo" just to mess around..."dingo," yes, but not "bingo." That would not have been cool.
I had a lot of fun, too, as I expressed in my tome that didn't appear (maybe it was too verbose).
Anyway, Toni, I enjoyed sparring with you through different comments, and enjoyed the aura surrounding the game. Sarah's posts were fun to read, and I read every single lyric this morning from the song posted. And, Toni, I checked out your blog a few days ago, and that was fun to see, as well.
Merry Christmas, all!
