It's the weekend! I won't be posting tomorrow, so today you get some extra words. Yay!
You've probably seen glimpses of our fireplace before, but here it is again, all decked out for Christmas. We have gas logs now, so we can have the heat and ambiance without the smokiness and mess. I still miss our old wood stove...but I wasn't the one to have to keep the fire going. ;)
What are some of your favorite Christmas cookies? Does your family make a whole bunch of different kinds? Hannah and I are planning on having a little baking day next week, and we were gathering some recipe ideas last night. Turtle Cookies, Crispy Almond Thins, Cherry Chocolate Kisses, Gingerbread Trees, and Peanut Butter Cookie Cups were just some of the options! Yum! I'm getting excited already. :)

Well even with the extra words I think I only crossed out 3!!! :) You MUST see about getting a better "random number generator:"!! LOL We did some baking this week and made our traditional snowmen cookies and pistachio thrumbprint cookies. Even my marrieds come in the door at Christmas and go straight for the special tin that I always keep each of those cookies in. It warms my heart to see how much the kids cherish our family traditions, not just the cookies and the special tins but also the family gatherings around the word. :) (I have heard them talk of what they are doing with their kids, makes me smile!) Have a good weekend Sarah!

Just to let you know...I am going to substitute the word that I chose ("snowman") for the word "snowball" that was chosen randomly today. I almost put "randomly" in quotes, but that would be sinking to a new low. I can see, though, that I am going to have to resort to cheating if I'm going to win this thing!
Tell ya what, if I don't get @ least ten matches on Monday, I'll quit, and take my game-playing elsewhere.*
*Bah humbug

How can you substitite a word for another word? That is not fair to the other players.Your fireplace looks so warm and inviting. Tell all hello and have a Blessed week-end.. It is really sleeting here, much rather have snow.

Ha! This is fun. I only got to cross out 2 words today for a grand total of 8, but it's fun, fun, fun, and I'm enjoying it as a nice diversion in a busy season.
Oh, I know you're kiddin' Cathy. ;)
I love to make Turtles and a flourless fruitcake this time of year. Scrumptious!
Sarah, your fireplace is beautiful! Hope all of your have a great weekend!

Gorgeous fireplace. Looks like it belongs in a magazine or something. I'm halfway there with the words but there are still several more days to go, and I don't have your mom's talent for winning these on-line things.
We always make at least five kinds of cookies. I'm adding lemon crème cookies this year. Merry Christmas.

OK, just so everyone in Christmas Bingoland knows, when I make comments about changing the rules (as if I could), I am completely, totally kidding. I played last year, and had a lot of fun, and am happy that the Girottis brought it back.
The Christmas season is a great time to reflect on the incarnation of Christmas, and anything else that we do during this time of year is gravy, Jesus coming to earth in human flesh and dying a mere thirty years later, reflects the incredible grace of God. I was in the car driving home moments ago, musing on the goodness and mercy of God that He would deign to send His Son, born of a woman, for His elect.
SO, when I JOKE about changing the rules, and pouting about someone getting more words than me, I assure you, I am playing this game for fun, and it's secondary to the "reason for the season."
But, I still wanna win! Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

That should have read, "...the incarnation of Christ," not Christmas.

I have been so out of Blogland, I missed the bingo game! I had so much fun playing the game in the past. Good luck to this years players. I love the picture of your fireplace. We have gas logs here too, and I so miss the open fireplace that I grew up with, if not the occasional smoke when a downdraft hit.
