We've been waiting for this day to arrive...today was our local Chic-fil-A Receipt Day.
Back in December when Granny and I were out shopping, we stopped for lunch at Chic-fil-A. The place was sooo busy...and we learned why!
Turns out that whatever items were purchased that day would be duplicated FREE if the customer brings back the receipt on Tuesday, January 13th.
So we marked the day on my favorite Linda Nelson Stocks (Lang) kitchen calendar so we wouldn't forget. Too bad Granny wasn't here to enjoy the freebies with us!
So...here we are enjoying some delicious Chicken Tortilla Soup and the original chicken sandwich for Sarah:Hannah didn't have a freebie from Chic-fil-A, so we swung by Panera Bread to redeem a gift card she'd received.
Later we stopped by our third restaurant of the day--Cracker Barrel...no, not for another lunch...but Hannah wanted to visit the gift shop. Don't you love all those rockers on their front porch? Here's a pretty scarf that Hannah liked: And here are their spring garden items on display already...I have to say as much as I love gardening that I'd like to rest another couple of months before thinking of all that work ahead! Next stop was our local Cheese Shop for some 50# bags of flour and wheat: I always like to see the new scripture they have up on their sign:We like shopping at the Cheese Shop when it's a quiet day. Busloads of tourists, church groups, and folks from all over stop here. Thankfully, today the aisles weren't crowded: Next stop was the library for a return:And...is any outing complete without a quick run by Walmart? And then, next stop--the post office to send off some snail-mail notes to Granny. She'll be looking forward to mail day now!
And last, but not least, Hannah had a coupon for some new sunglasses. The price tag on these babies was $125!! But we got them for FREE! since Sarah recently purchased new glasses: Did you notice the red ear-warmers Hannah is wearing? My sister knitted them for her for Christmas. Here's the link if you'd like to knit some for yourself! They knit up very quickly.
Well, that was our out-and-about day!
I think tomorrow will be our Girls Day In!
~Deb
First let me say that you are looking fantastic, Deb!!!
When I visit down south, I always make it a point to stop at Cracker Barrel at least once during my visit. It's one of our favorite places!
Loved seeing your girls day out!

Hi Deb!
My, what you you girls had. All those freebies must have given you a lot of satisfaction. I love freebies.
I've had the Colorimetry pattern in my files for a long time but haven't knitted it yet. It looks great on Hannah.
Love the sign at the cheese shop.
Have a great day!

I am so jealous! I love to go to the Cheese Shop. Maybe while I'm off of work I can make a quick trip over the mountain. Not today though, we have ice/freezing rain on everything. I'm glad I don't have to leave the house.
Blessings,
Bobbi

What a fun day!
I love the gift shops at Cracker Barrel. So much fun items to look at.
We haven't gone to far out due to Gregory and the cold rainy weather we have had lately.
Ear warmers look nice.too bad I could never get the hang of knitting.

When I looked at the baking picture of Sarah the other day, and then the picture today of the two of you at Chic-fil-A, I said to myself-It looks like Sarah got new glasses. Then I finished reading this post, and found out she did! I wish my eye doctor gave out coupons like that, that is a huge deal. I forgot about the fact that Cracker Barrel has a gift shop. Maybe we could do that when I come to visit. Hopefully the arctic blast will be gone by the end of February. While it was an adventure, and a bonding experience, I can do without a repeat of the deicing of Teeter Hill. Have some hot chocolate, and stay warm. Love, Toots
