Hannah, my son also has a beard. I see him picking at it, and I ask him why. He said because some of the hairs feel like they are sticking together, so he is trying to straighten them out! Habit! So, I would suggest for him a soft conditioner that is very CLEAN smelling. Something that would not make it so rough and bristly. I am sure his wife and kids would appreciate that, too! He works in an office, so he wouldn't mind if it is woodsy or not. However, you know all men like to be tough, so if it smelled outdoorsy, He would like that too!
