Moving on, we have reached Day #3! How many words will you get today?
Yesterday Eric's family took me to tour the Georgia Governor's mansion, which was decorated all downstairs with many different trees - probably some firs in there. :) This year's theme was honoring all the former governors who lived in that house, so there was a tree dedicated to each one. Here's the tree for Jimmy Carter:
The outside of the mansion had wreaths in every front window, and inside they had a cake replica of the house, including each tiny wreath:
As we entered the house, the governor's wife was at the front door, personally greeting each visitor with a handshake. Of course, to get to that point, you had to pass through the bomb-sniffing dogs, metal detectors, purse searches, and bodyguards. ;)
After finishing the tour, everybody went downstairs to the ballroom to enjoy a bit of a party, with cookies and a choir singing holiday songs. There were more trees down there, as well as a nativity scene with figures of Mary and Joseph.
It was a very enjoyable excursion! :) Okay, let us all know how many words you have so far!
~Sarah
Only 2 words today!!! I now have a grand total of 8...still a long way to go. :)
You "excursion" yesterday sounds like so much fun. Getting a little bit of Georgia in that Virginia girl. :)

Hi Sarah, from the Deep South!
I enjoyed seeing pics of the tour, thank you for sharing them. I'm glad security measures were in place, too. ;) Looks like your new, extended family is giving you the royal treatment.
I have a not-so-grand total of 5 words, now. It all went downhill after Monday's words. We need to talk about this. *sobs* Actually, maybe I'll just eat a plate of lace cookies and not worry. Afterall, there's always tomorrah!
How are you doing this year, Cathy?
Posted by: Toni | Wednesday, December 09, 2015 at 09:00 AM
I'm doing terribly, Toni! However, since you said that I can substitute close words, I'm doing just that. I have "Hallelujah Chorus" on my list of chosen words, so I'm going to cross it off my list since "Handel's Messiah" is one of today's words. They're similar, so I'm assuming the Girottis will approve.
And, Sarah, I was just telling Gene of your adventure yesterday, and marveling that the governor's wife greeted everyone...and then we caught ourselves, and discussed how these elected officials are just that...elected...and public servants, to the constituents, so why shouldn't they be on hand to greet people. ANYway, my feet are back on the floor, and off the soapbox...
And, who would ever think to pick "figgy pudding" as one of the words? C'mon!

Thank you, Sarah! I am "stubbing my toe"....not getting very far....8 words total, but enjoyed your tour!
I'm glad you picked figgy pudding....I've never eaten it, but the word just makes me smile!

Hi Sarah! It's so nice to see your pictures and all you are up to... Your governor's wife must be a special lady to be there to greet folks like that! My mom and I aren't playing bingo this year, but we're enjoying all the posts & comments. :) God bless

I did much better today - found five words! Enjoyed your tour of the governor's mansion but it looked very cold there.

7 for me, so far, and 9 for Matthew! Sarah, my husband's beating me at this game! (If you could, look back over my list of words tonight before you go to bed, that way they are fresh in your mind come morning.) ;-)
