If you expected this post to be from the Virginian writers, you would be wrong! Yes, that's right, this is Sarah in Georgia, and I am excited to say that we got our first snow on Friday/Saturday. It was a whole half an inch! :) I was really quite happy with what we got...it was so pretty coming down, and there was a nice coating of snow all over the ground. Eric was amused at how delighted I was to see snow. ;)
But in reference to the REAL snowstorm that hit the east coast: My family in Virgina is snowed in with no internet access since Friday, with 18 inches of white stuff piled up...just a bit more than we got down south. Dad's been working the storm but was able to make it home this morning - and they spent most of the day trying to shovel themselves out.
I did not miss having to shovel out in the cold...but I did get my first Georgian snowball. I saved it in the freezer as a memento. Ha! :)
Who else got hit with the snowstorm? Hopefully you're all warm and safe wherever you are! I'm sure Mom will be back on the blog as soon as she can get internet again. :)
~Sarah
I'm very thankful we only got about 4 inches here in Connecticut, and my nice neighbor stopped on his way home last night, and plowed my driveway. 😀

Thanks Sarah, I've been wondering how you all got on and whether or not your Dad was called out to work.
I didn't know that it snowed as far south as Georgia! That's a memory for sure.

Blessings,
Sharon

I wondered why there hadn't been new posts since Janiary 14, but this explains it.
Where I live--in the Bay Are--it was sunny and bright yesterday, although in the high 50's and low 60's, it's still chilly. We have had lots of rain, for which we are thankful, and which we love so much. Although the forecast doesn't call for rain today, we are slated to get some more liquid sunshine at week's end.
Enjoy your "snowstorm," Sarah.

Hi Sarah! I can't believe I'm seeing this pic of you with a snowball in your hand. What a gift from above for you. :)
We didn't get a lot over the weekend, just a bit of ice and dusting of snow, but then that's what usually happens.
Have a great week!

Hi Sarah,
I keep checking the blog for beautiful snow reports. Nice to see snow in Georgia. There are so many many nice things there....including you!!
We've been praying for your dad, knowing he would have to go out. Glad to hear he is safe and sound. We are enjoying sunny 73 degree weather in South Texas. What a difference a few miles make :)
Love,
Mrs. E

Dear Sarah, you said you got your "first" snowfall this year. I hate to tell you but that may be your only snow for this winter. People do get excited over the forecast of snow in the Atlanta area, don't they? Driving in Atlanta in the snow is not fun. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love, Barbara J.

We had a dusting on Friday-Saturday morning.Much of it turned to ice. I hope Barbara J is right that is the only snow for this year.2 years ago we were snowed in for 3 days on one storm and 2 on the other.Roads just don't get treated in the small towns of metro Atlanta and it is way too icy for driving.
Last year we had slush snow.Snow for one hour and melted in 2.

Sarah, I got 17 inches in Chesterfield, Va. I was off from work on Fri. & Mon. The snow plow finally came thru our neighborhood today and cleared the streets. Needless to say, the snow piles look like small mountains! When I was a kid, I would save a few snowballs in the freezer and would take them out on the 4th of July. The other kids in the neighborhood were pretty impressed!

I'd say we got 5 inches here at our house in SC. We loved the day off from school, and a long weekend to boot! Awesome! :)
