The following is a description that's written on my Pinterest page, and it pretty much describes me to a T:
I love fabric and old quilts...and barn quilts, too, and old barns...bird houses, watering cans, gardens, and white picket fences...and all things country.
I promised to post about the new barn quilt I received in my stocking this past Christmas. Well...really...there was a piece of paper saying that Tom had gifted me a barn quilt and would install it wherever I wanted. This particular barn quilt is extra special to me because my quilting teacher, Barbara, over at Quilting Gal, painted it!
Here's a photo below that I took from Barbara's blog that shows some of her barn quilts. They are all beautiful. You can see more of her barn quilts on her Pinterest Barn Quilt Board.Tom secured the new barn quilt on the side of his tool shed, and it can easily be seen when we're sitting on the deck (in warmer weather!):Here's the picture of the same quilt in the snow that I posted just recently: Here's my other barn quilt below which I've had for a few years. It's installed on my garden shed....yes, his and hers sheds, and they each have their own barn quilt! I can't wait until there are beautiful flowers growing again around each of these sheds!
Both of these barn quilts are the 4x4 size. But...Tom also complimented the larger barn quilt with a smaller 2x2 size that is just perfect to greet visitors at our front door. Barbara painted this one, too. I love them both!:And for a final photo...here's Barbara, yours truly, and Barbara's mother when we met up at a local restaurant last spring. Looks like none of us have a clue where the camera is on her cell phone! Ha! But I treasure this photo because of the special time we enjoyed together: Hope you enjoyed seeing my new barn quilts! You'll have to come see them in person!

Hello Deb,
What a great Christmas gift. The his and hers sheds are just so cute with the barn quilt on the ends. Especially love the smaller one at your front door, you sure know that a quilter/s live inside.
Enjoy that snow.
Happy days.

Your barn quilts amaze me Deb. We have nothing like them over here.
Great photo of the three of you and of course the dapper Tom always scrubs up well.

Deb this post sure warmed my heart. Can't wait for Barbara to see it. The last picture of Mother, Barbara and you is so sweet. We are getting our sewing projects ready for another family sewing retreat. This year we go to Chattanooga TN for a wonderful 10 days of sewing with mother, all my 6 sisters and various nieces, granddaughters, daughter in laws, and daughters. A real high light of the year.
Thank you for your blog. It's always such an inspiration seeing you and your girls and mother. You are blessed. ~Polly~ (Barbara's sister)

Oh Deb, hat a beautiful barn quilt! I love to see them on buildings, and I always wonder what the pattern is called.
Hope you're not snowed under. We have 1.5 in. so far today. I know it's nearly spring, but this calls for some heavy knitting, lol.
Have a great weekend!

LOVE it!!!!! The colors, the design the size....so beautiful! I am definitely going to have to come up there and see it in person! :) The one at your front door is nice as well. I like the idea of putting that at your entrance way. You have such a gift for decorating, it always looks so inviting and warm.
Hugs!

Oh Deb! That was such a treat to see the barn blocks up. I just loved the one in the snow. It was fun to reminisce about the day Mother and I had lunch with you. I also am lining up my projects for out sisters sewing retreat. Can't wait.

This is how much I know about quilts, quilting, and the like: I thought a barn quilt was a literal quilt...you know, one made of fabric.
I stand corrected, and bit sheepish to boot.
