Hello on a snowy day-before-spring-arrives Saturday...I thought I'd pop on the blog while we await Sarah's next post that lets us all know whether the girl that most folks voted for is indeed due to arrive in August. Or whether the other guys guessed right. :)
This is National Quilting Day...and I haven't done anything quilty..only in my dreams. What about you? Did you do any quilting or visit a quilt shop? I am expecting a fabric delivery...it even could have arrived today in honor of Quilting Day, but we never made it out to the box to check.
I've mostly been occupying myself today with second priming Jonathan's first 10 cabinet doors.
Back-side prime, sand, prime, sand. Front-side prime, sand, prime...sand. Next up is the real painting job. Back-side paint, sand, paint. Front-side paint, sand, paint. Soon it will feel like we're getting somewhere. Move these out, move more in: And notice the snow outside the windows? Here's today's photo I sent Sarah in Georgia to make her a little homesick...no, not really...it was just in case she was interested, haha: And here's the photo she sent back taken from her front porch. Aaah, slightly different scenario. Which scene would you pick? The springtime one for me, please!: And here's my serenader who likes to pluck out some tunes for us some evenings: Jonathan's playing from The Shenandoah Harmony, a Four-Shape tune book, page #77 titled Collins. And here are the words for our Sunday Hymn post:
1 O hearken, sinners, we have cause To warn you of your danger,
We pray be reconciled with him Who once lay in a manger.
2 A glorious throng have gone before Who shout and sing hosannah;
They stand around the tree of life, And always gather manna.
Chorus:
Ho! Every one that thirsteth! Come ye to the waters:
Freely drink, and quench your thirst,
Ye Zion’s sons and daughters.
Happy 1st Day of Spring tomorrow!
Happy National Quilting Day! I'm enjoying your snow picture and Sarah's spring flowers picture. I love receiving fabric packages in the mail--got me through the long winter. Happy first day of Spring!

Happy Spring. Yes, we're enjoying the beautiful scenery here in Georgia but not enjoying the pine pollen and allergies :)
Since I couldn't begin to stitch a quilt, a group of us enjoyed looking at Sarah's gorgeous quilt last night at their party. Does that count for honoring National Quilting Day???:) Hope your snow melts soon!

Having grown up in Connecticut, I remember the snows even after the first day of Spring. I think I enjoy more our temperatures here in south Georgia where everything is bursting into bloom. Your snow is beautiful though - as long as I don't have to be outside in those cold temperatures. Happy first day of Spring.

Happy Spring, Deb! We have trees and flowers blooming all over. I didn't do anything quilty yesterday. I will be soon though as one of my granddaughters wants me to help her make a simple quilt.
Can't wait to see pics of Sarah's little punkin. So exciting.
Have a great week!

Yes, waiting with you to hear the gender news! Exciting! We have rain here & trees in bloom...good napping weather after church! :) Nothing quilty going here...it's all wedding planning. 💍 Love the pic of Jonathan and his sweet smile. What a treat to sing hymns together as a family. Sarah's view is what I would prefer. 🌳 I would help with cabinets if I lived closer! 🖌 Will check the blog daily as we await the announcement! Happy spring, friends! 🌷

HI DEAR DEB: HACE TIEMPO QUE NO ESTABA CONECTADA, YA QUE SE ROMPIO NUESTRA COMPUTADORA Y TUVIMOS QUE LLEVARLA AL TECNICO, CASI 20 DIAS PASARON, AHORA ESTA COMO NUEVA. ME ALEGRA TANTO LA NOTICIA SOBRE SARA Y ERIK, QUE HERMOSA BENDICION, UN HIJO, ALABADO SEA EL SEÑOR, FELICIDADES HERMANA EN CRISTO POR SU NUEVO NIETO. ¿COMO ESTA DE SALUD SU SEÑORA MADRE? ESOERO QUE ELLA ESTE MEJOR, ¿HA LEIDO LAS NOTICIAS DE EL COMPROMISO ENTRE LA CHICA NEELY Y EL JOVEN STADDON? QUE BUENO QUE ES EL SEÑOR, SON JOVENES QUE AMAN Y SIGUEN LOS CAMINOS DE JESUCRISTO. AQUI LLEGO EL OTOÑO ME ENCANTA ESTA ESTACION, PERO MI PREFERIDA ES EL INVIERNO. BUENO ESPERO QUE ME PUEDA CONTESTAR, LE DESEO UN MUY BUEN FIN DE SEMANA, RECUERDE QUE ESTAS PASCUAS QUE FESTEJA EL MUNDO, NO ES LA MISMA QUE FESTEJAMOS LOS HIJOS DE DIOS, EN 1 DE CORINTIOS, CAPITULO 5,VERSICULO 7, DICE QUE LA PASCUA ES CRISTO EN NUESTRO CORAZON, LAMENTABLEMENTE MUCHOS CRISTIANOS SE DEJAN ENVOLVER EN RELIGIOSIDADES PAGANAS, RECORDEMOS LA MUERTE Y RESURECCION DE NUESTRO SALVADOR COMO UN VERDADERO ACTO DE AMOR, NO TOMEMOS EN POCO EL SACRIFICIO HECHO EN LA CRUZ DEL CALVARIO POR NUESTRO SALVADOR Y SEÑOR. ESTA PASCUA DEBE VIVIR TODO EL AÑO EN NUESTROS CORAZONES QUERIDA DEB. LA SALUDO CON UN ABRAZO FRATERNAL A LA DISTANCIA. GOD BLESS ALL THE FAMILY.
Translated: HI DEAR DEB:
SOME TIME AGO I HAD NO CONNECTION, AS OUR COMPUTER WAS BROKEN AND WE HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE TECHNICIAN, NEARLY 20 DAYS PASSED, NOW IT IS NEW. I AM SO HAPPY TO HEAR THE NEWS ABOUT SARAH AND ERIC, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BLESSING, A SON, PRAISE BE TO THE LORD. CONGRATULATIONS, SISTER IN CHRIST, FOR YOUR NEW GRANDCHILD. HOW IS THE HEALTH OF YOUR MOTHER? I HOPE THAT SHE BETTER. HAVE YOU READ THE NEWS OF THE COMMITMENT BETWEEN THE NEELY GIRL AND THE STADDON YOUNG MAN? HOW GOOD IS THE LORD, THERE ARE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO LOVE AND FOLLOW THE WAYS OF JESUS CHRIST. HERE COMES THE AUTUMN I LOVE THIS SEASON, BUT MY FAVORITE IS THE WINTER. WELL, I HOPE YOU CAN ANSWER ME. I WISH YOU A VERY GOOD WEEKEND - REMEMBER, THIS EASTER THAT THE WORLD CELEBRATES, IS NOT THE SAME THAT WE AS THE CHILDREN OF GOD CELEBRATE. IN 1 CORINTHIANS, CHAPTER 5,VERSE 7 SAYS THAT THE EASTER IS CHRIST IN OUR HEART, UNFORTUNATELY MANY CHRISTIANS LET THEMSELVES BE MISLED IN PAGAN RELIGION, LET US REMEMBER THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF OUR SAVIOR, AS A TRUE ACT OF LOVE. LET US NOT MAKE LITTLE OF THE SACRIFICE MADE ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY BY OUR SAVIOR AND LORD. THIS EASTER MUST LIVE ALL THE YEAR IN OUR HEARTS, DEAR DEB. I GREET YOU WITH A FRATERNAL EMBRACE FROM A DISTANCE. GOD BLESS ALL THE FAMILY.
