This past week, after living in this area for 15 years, I heard about a "barn sale at Spring Creek" taking place this weekend. I couldn't believe I was just now learning about this gathering of crafty, vintage, and antique treasures, since this is their sixth year of operation!
I started researching exactly where this barn sale was located and ran across this youtube of the event filmed two years ago. It gave us a good flavor of what we would experience! So we made definite plans to go check it out!
Hannah, Granny, and I headed out on this beautiful fall Saturday morning, and when we arrived at Spring Creek, this old building... ...and these signs greeted us:
There were about 30 or so vendors set up in the grassy area out behind the barn and lots of cars arriving: I loved the unique and creative green pumpkin Entrance display: Granny and I were ready to tackle the Barn Sale! Always the sales person, Granny brought one of her Gathering Baskets to carry around.
Just in case someone asked her which vendor was selling that beautiful basket, she could reply that she made it and would gladly make them one! Hannah and Granny took advantage of this Fall Prop Photo Op setup by Valley Heirlooms -- great display! This was a favorite booth, too, (scripted grain & co.). I always love signs and word plaques like this: A few vendors were also set up inside the barn...this is the back entrance. I loved seeing some fall display ideas to incorporate here at our house: Closer photo of the back door to the barn. I loved everything about this venue:
This was a favorite food vendor, and yes, we enjoyed the apple fritters served here:
I bought a few gift items from this vendor, Embellish Decorating, and it was my favorite booth at the Barn Sale: This is another area of this vendor's wares--a display of wire pumpkins: Flowers for sale! Beautiful Globe Amaranth blooms:
And now I'm in the mood for fall decorating...first I'll put up my hanging yellow mum baskets on the front porch that I purchased today. Then I'll go pick some goldenrod in the garden and put it in a huge glass antique jug I purchased long ago at Toots Creek. That's a good start!
All in all, today was such an enjoyable excursion!

HOLA DEB: QUE LINDO PASEO, USTED Y YO TENEMOS COSAS EN COMUN, NOS GUSTA LAS DECORACIONES CON OBJETOS ANTIGUOS, ME GUSTAN LOS MUEBLES, LOS TAPICES, ALFOMBRAS, OBJETOS QUE DECORAN CON ESE TOQUE DE VIEJO, ME GUSTA Y MUCHO. MIS HIJAS A VECES ME DICEN QUE TENGO GUSTOS ANTIGUOS, A MI ME GUSTA ESE ESTILO, LAS COLCHAS TEJIDAS, UNA MECEDORA, UNA SALAMANDRA PARA CALENTAR LA CASA EN EL INVIERNO, LE DA TANTA CALIDES AL HOGAR, ¿USTED QUE CREE? ESTOY TEJIENDO UNA CORTINA PARA MI COCINA, ME HICE 2 DELANTALES Y PRONTO TEJERE PARA 2 PEQUEÑITAS NIETAS QUE ESTAN EN EL CAMINO, SI DIOS QUIERE NACERAN ENTRE FEBRERO Y MARZO, ESTAMOS TAN CONTENTOS CON MI ESPOSO POR ESTAS 2 NUEVAS CORONAS. QUE BELLA SE LA VE A LA ABUELA, DIOS ES TAN BUENO Y SU MISERICORDIA SE RENUEVA CADA MAÑANA. LE ENVIO UN GRAN ABRAZO A LA DISTANCIA. BENDICIONES.

Wow, what a great place to visit! Wish we had something like that close by. The calendar may say it's Fall but I'm afraid our temperatures don't feel like it. Maybe in a few more weeks. Granny looks wonderful - so glad she's feeling well. Enjoy your decorating!!

What a fun fall-ish thing to do. :)Looks like a great sale. I'm glad you were able to find some nice things to purchase. Hope Granny got some nibbles for her basket business.

Ok now I am in the mood for fall! A couple of the displays you photographed had something interesting that I would have had to check the price and maybe pull out my wallet!! :) The Scrabble FOREVER sign reminded me of you! Granny looks wonderful, and what a great little salesman to bring along her basket! Did she get any customers? :)I have put out a few fallish items like my table runners and some candles but the warmer temps have discouraged me from purchasing a pumpkin or mums yet...maybe this weekend...I'll keep my fingers crossed for some nippy fall breezes. :)

Loved, loved, loved the fall excursion post! I LOVE going places like this, especially in the fall!
Question: How were the prices? Some places you go like this is expensive, some not. I have had my fall decor up since the first of Sept! I leave it up through Thanksgiving. I really go out for fall decor...the colors are so deep, warm and inviting, and the smells of hot apple cider, caramel cake and fried apple pies are so are very pleasing to the senses of smell and sight! God is so good to us to share all this beauty!
Granny looked so good! She is also smart to carry her basket with her! With age comes wisdom! Tell her we said hi and keep being smart and beautiful! (-:
