Well, if you've been following my instagram here...you know that the Red & White Quilt Along that I joined back in February is now done!
I worked ahead as much as possible knowing that spring yardwork is in sight. Here is the finished queen size quilt on our bed:
And here is the quilting pattern, Hearts Surfing, by Anne Bright Designs. Quilting by Snowbird Quilts.
Oh, my, this was a lot of work! I usually work on lap size quilts, throws, table runners...not ones this huge! But...now that it's over, I'm glad I persevered!
Those red squares in my quilt are the result of ladies all across the country sending in red squares to share with other quilters! How fun! And the red squares I sent in are now sewn into their quilts!
Thanks to Julia at Red Rainboots Handmade for coordinating this entire quilt along and being the clearinghouse for 700 quilters to send their red squares to for divvying out! What a job that was!
I'm taking a much deserved break from the sewing room after this project! Yesterday I pruned the rose bushes, and tomorrow I'll prune the butterfly bushes and start more spring garden chores.
Nothing like going from one fun inside hobby to another fun outdoor hobby!

Beautiful! Red is one of my favorite colors so it's a natural beauty to me. ;) Kid #1 moved out (nearby) last weekend and I'm looking forward to HAVING a sewing room. :) I'm going to look forward to spending some time inside before the outside work hits here. Enjoy that spring work! :)
